Eric Bryant
Rev. Dr. Eric Bryant is senior pastor at Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville. He entered pastoral ministry in 1991 and became an ordained elder in the Kentucky Annual Conference in 1999.

Eric has served congregations in a variety of settings, including as a church planter for nine years.  Before assuming his current role at Christ Church, he spent three years as director of New Church Development. Before that, Eric served as senior pastor at St. Matthews UMC in Louisville, which became a multisite church during his tenure. 

Eric has a passion to reach the lost for Jesus Christ and to see the church renew, grow and become all God desires it to be.

Eric and his wife, Kathy, have three grown children and two grandchildren.  With his free time, Eric enjoys being outside – mostly training for Ironman Triathlons! He also loves spending time with his wife and family.

Adam Sparks

Rev. Adam Sparks, the senior pastor at St. Matthews UMC in Louisville, is a native of Salyersville in Eastern Kentucky.  He and his wife, Melanie, met at the Wesley Foundation at Morehead State University, where they both graduated. 

Adam has a B.S. in Psychology from Morehead State (2005) and an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary (2009).  Melanie is the choir director at Bullitt Central High School.  Adam and Melanie have two sons, Noah and John, and two dogs Lola and Tucker. 

Besides St. Matthews, Adam has served congregations at Bethel/Mt. Pleasant, Owingsville, Sunshine in South Shore, and College Heights in Elizabethtown.  He enjoys cycling, hiking, cooking, University of Kentucky basketball, listening to NPR, and going on adventures as a family.

Ministry Assistant of New Church Development

Alan Wild
Mr. Alan Wild serves as ministry assistant of New Church Development, overseeing administrative duties and assisting the various NCD teams. He is a former journalist at newspapers in Ohio and Kentucky, including more than 20 years at The Courier-Journal in Louisville. He also has taught journalism and mass communications part time at several colleges, and before joining the Conference staff spent a year teaching middle school English and social studies.

Alan is a native of Huntington, W.Va., and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Ohio University. He is a member of St. Matthews UMC, where he is active in choir and on various church teams. He enjoys exercising, college football and basketball, reading, and working around the house and yard. He has a grown daughter, Elizabeth.
